Warrior Impression

OK so were talking about the Golden State Warriors. The 4-6 Warriors that just lost twice last week to the Memphis Grizzlies but did beat the Nuggets minus Billups/Iverson and wrapping it up with a lose to their rival Sac Kings in Arco Arena last Sunday night.

Amazingly these young players turn things around with a 2-1 record this week beating the Timberwolves in OT, losing to A.I.'s Pistons and beating the crap out of Baron Davis' Clippers in LA 121-103. Their 1st victory on the road!

Who are these guys?

Andris Biedrins should be an all-star this season with a double-double in every game so far even though its early in the season.

Steven Jackson trying to do it all but continues to shoot 3's and long range jumpers when they need to drive to the hoop and draw contact or get to the line. He's no Baron Davis and the Warriors sure do miss his leadership and poise during crunchtime. I'll never understand how they made Jackson the Captain last season after all his personal problems off the court.

Al Harrington is outta here but what will they get in return. I've heard Eddie Curry or Gerald Wallace but none the less this guy is a plague with this young group of guys. Now he's complaining about his back and when tests come back negative, he wants a 2nd opinion!

Brandan Wright is now going to be taking Harrington's minutes for the time but last year he didn't even want to play basketball. Isn't he from North Carolina? and now he's going to get more playing time? He just doesn't look like he enjoys the game.

OK now for some of the goods!!

Anthony Randolph- 19 years old and 6'10". Its gonna take some time to learn but the Warriors aren't playoff bound. He shot 2 of 10 vs the Sac Kings and needs to develop a jumper. He still finished with 11 points in 14 minutes and could be a nice fit for this team.

Anthony Morrow played his 1st game last Sunday night and has a nice jump shot. He's from Georgia Tech and can really shoot the rock. He gets his 1st NBA start yesterday afternoon vs the Clippers and shoots 15 of 20 for an astounding 37 points. The top scoring performance for any rookie this season! Nice start for this undrafted rook.

Marcus Williams is probably their best PG from UConn.

This is one of the younger if not youngest teams in the NBA  and will continue to lose many games this season. They struggle to play Defense, don't have that solid go to guy at clutch time, and are just plain inexperienced. With Monta Ellis out for reckless scooter riding and no solid point guard this team will continue to struggle.

This next week they have 2 home games against the Portland Blazers and Chicago Bulls. They are playing decent basketball and especially at home could and should finish no worse than 1-1. The Bulls should go down and the Blazers are winning tough games on the road.
